Is DNT+ compatible with NoScript?

I'm a very long-time user of the Firefox extension NoScript. Can I install and use Do Not Track Plus too without any compatibility problems?

Hi Alan,

They're for different purposes. We both block javascript. We do it for tracking js. They give you control over all js. I'm not aware of any problems caused by running them together.

Thanks for the info, Jeff. I've also been using Adblock Plus with one of its subscriptions that blocks tracking scripts for many years, and that hasn't conflicted with NoScript either. So far, it seems like having multiple programs that block tracking scripts doesn't hurt anything.

My Adblock Plus subscription may already block the same scripts that DNT+ does, so I'm primarily interested in using it to block tracking cookies. I have Firefox configured to delete most cookies when it closes with its "Accept cookies from sites and Keep until: I close Firefox" setting, but I figure that if DNT+ keeps them from being placed in the first place then that may be even better. I have my Firefox cookies exceptions set up so that some sites are Allowed to set persistent cookies, e.g. getabine.com for its login cookie. I also have over 100 sites Blocked from setting cookies at all. This is a list that was created by Spyware Blaster several years ago and includes sites like 2o7.net, 100hot.com, 101webstats.com, adforce.com, etc. I don't know how many of them are still needed, or if any of them are needed at all now that I have DNT+, but I guess it doesn't hurt to keep blocking them completely. I see that the Firefox block list doesn't keep the 2o7.net optout cookie from being set, but that's the only 2o7.net cookie present. I don't have a problem with that.

Thank you for the detailed DNT+ FAQs. They're very informative. I like all the info in the UI too. I'll let you know if I run into any problems.

Edit: As far as I can tell, DNT+ does not modify the Firefox Cookies Exceptions list. Is that correct?
