Happy National Doughnut Day. We ate one of those glazed donut sandwiches to celebrate.

happy national donut dayMassachusetts is home to both Dunkin’ Donuts and Abine, and we go there frequently. By “frequently,” I mean “probably excessively.” So in honor of National Doughnut Day today, we sent one of our developers, Zach, to go try one of those Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwiches.

In case you haven’t been keeping up with your pastry news, this recent culinary marvel is a bacon and egg sandwich on a doughnut. Although it sounds like it probably contains your entire calorie limit for the day, it actually has 100 fewer calories than the standard bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel, which has 460.

Here’s Zach coming back with the goods:

He was pretty excited:

We all crowded around to see what was actually inside this thing:

As you can see, he added in the optional cheese. That’s a power move. And then we stood with bated breath while he took the first bite:

He gave it a 12/10. A few of us tried it, too, including our co-founder Rob:

Happy National Doughnut Day, everyone, and have a good weekend!
